Over time, we selected all of our studios very carefully, considering comfort, historical interest and originality.

We don’t want you to be learning in a common “classroom”, so here is our selection, that always depends on the availability given by the municipality agenda.

BARCO DUCALE

Many ventures take place in this magical place, so the availability has to be checked before each tour. Should the main building be taken, we can still enjoy the “Music Room”, right near the main rooms.

Designed by Francesco di Giorgio Martini, this structure was one of the favorite places of residence and hunting of the Montefeltro-Della Rovere, The Dukes of Urbino. It was initiated by Federico da Montefeltro in 1465 and included a small convent of the Franciscans Minor dedicated to St. John the Baptist.

The Barco Ducale was also the residence of illustrious guests who lived there during the Renaissance, helping to make this site famous. The last Duke Francesco Maria II indulged in stays at the Barco both for spiritual refreshment and for physical and hunting leisure; he could escape the worldly atmosphere of the court and seek spiritual growth.

Palazzo Ducale in Urbania

PALAZZO DUCALE

This gem hidden in the city historical centre will welcome you as an old Duke’s friend.

The Ducal Palace of Urbania was built at the end of the 15th century on top of a pre-existing Brancaleoni fortress. A monumental building, which dominates the Metauro river and the historic center of the city, today a popular tourist destination and an important cultural reference site for the entire valley.

The Palazzo Ducale is a complex of about 6,000 square meters due to the patronage of the Montefeltro-Della Rovere. The large complex was designed by the architect Francesco Di Giorgio Martini in 1470 and was later completed by the brilliant architect Girolamo Genga.

The external architecture preserves the dual identity of fortification and palace-court, reflecting both the warrior character of the ducal lordship and the refined courtesan culture.
