Katie and Piero met in Sant’Angelo when Katie was teaching at the Technical School of Science in Urbino (Le Marche) in 2006, and four years later they were married in a beautiful ceremony. They lived in Dallas, Texas, for 11 years and currently reside in Italy with their three wonderful children.

Together they strive to share their incredible experiences in Le Marche with the world by providing stellar personal service and unforgettable tours.

Piero is from Sant’Angelo in Vado (Urbino) located in the region of Le Marche. He grew up searching for truffles and mushrooms while hunting in the woods behind his family’s country house. Though never a commercial farmer, he spent his childhood on his grandfather’s farm practicing sustainable farming and tending to the animals. His family, especially his mother, instilled in him a passion for nature and the environment as well as a respect for their rich culture of food and wine.

When he is not hosting a tour, Piero proudly represented high quality wines throughout the state of Texas. He is a certified international sommelier and taught classes on Italian wine and culture at SMU in their Continuing Education (CAPE) program.

Katie is a Dallas native that holds a B.S. in Special Education from Vanderbilt University as well as a Masters in Speech-Language Pathology from The University of Texas at Dallas . She has traveled throughout South America and Europe, but found a second home in Italy. Katie fell in love with the language and culture and became deeply rooted in fine food and wine. She taught English in Florence and Le Marche while collaborating with such notable names as Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, and General Electric.
