Romance, thriller, horror, mystery — almost all stories have the spine of a love story. It’s the strongest motivator, whether in a romantic relationship, a family situation or the bond between friends. Whether your tale is historical, set in outer space, under the sea, or right-here-right-now, love is a vital element.
Love makes the world go ‘round
Where is it in your story?
With Dante (local author, 700 years dead) as our guide to comprehending all different types and degrees of love, we will — daily — add to your story. Whether it’s a love scene, or just a thread, where it’s expressed or denied, we’ll be building the love in your tale every day. In understanding Dante’s epic Commedia, we will look at the many forms love can take — loving the wrong thing, loving the right thing wrongly, loving the wrong thing more, loving Self most, loving rightly, and lastly, loving God less than any desire.
If you recognize the Star Wars stories, The Godfathers, most of Game of Thrones, and Romeo & Juliet, in this list, you will realize how these ideas of love are woven into all storylines. How do we weave them into yours? We’ll build a Map of Moments for your Work In Progress to understand your characters’ motivations and impulses, then go from there ...
